Indonesia, which is the world’s largest island country, decided to change Jakarta as its capital and choose another city instead.

In the past week, Indonesian President Joko Widodo, who made a decision, announced that they would go to a capital change. The National Development and Planning Minister of the country explained that there is a possibility that the capital will change between 2018 and 2019 and that they are starting to work on it.

Authorities say that Java Island, where Jakarta is located, is buried under 25 centimeters of water each year and that it is a big one, the reason for the change is the population of the island. Java Island, which has a population of more than 10 million people, has a serious traffic problem but stating that it is trying to overcome it, said that Jakarta will continue to be the most important financial region of the country.

One of the cities in Palangkaraya or Jonggol is considered as the new capital of Indonesia. Although the number of islands in Indonesia, known as the world’s largest island country, is unknown, it is estimated to be between 13,000 and 18,000.
